2018 Programs

January – Martha Lindberg

Program: “Mrs. Lindburg’s Neighborhood”.  This trunk show highlights 30-40 quilts Martha has made over the years.  You will see her first quilt and what she is currently working on.  She is always looking for something new, a different technique or a quilt she has never made before.   She loves modern quilts as much as traditional, and her latest love is any quilt with houses on it.  Her collection includes redwork, swap block quilts, paper pieced, applique, both hand and machine, and One Block Wonders.  You name it, she has probably made it!

February – Phyllis Thornton, My Quilted Dreams

Program: “My Quilted Dreams—Mini-madness Trunk Show”.  Phyllis will have a trunk show featuring her many beautiful miniature quilts.

March – Maggie Ball, Dragonfly Quilts

Program: “Innovative Quilts, Traditional Roots—Trunk Show”.  This is a lecture with quilt show, reviewing Maggie’s years as a quilter including her experiences teaching kids to quilt and voluntary work in Mongolia—inspirations, growth, and evolution.  Maggie began quilting in 1986 and enjoys creating her own designs from elements of traditional patterns.  She is an award winning national and international quilter.  She has extensive teaching experience in the US and abroad, including many school children.  She was instrumental in organizing quilting in Mongolia.

April – Comfort Quilt Sew-InMay – Maria Hall, Charming Prints Quilting

Program: “No Pattern, No Problem”.  Afraid of buying panels or large-scale fabric because you don’t have a pattern to fit it into?  Some fabric is just too cute to be cut up into small pieces!  In this trunk show of quilts, Maria will display a wide variety of quilts, from simple to complicated, small and large, that can be made without a pattern.  You will be eager to visit the local quilt shop afterwards to purchase those panels and cute large-repeat fabrics!

June – Doris Rice, Quilting Queen Designs

Program: “Texas Beauties Trunk Show”.

July – Sharon Holliday, Sourdough Quilts

Program: “Sourdough Quilts”.  This will be a trunk show of over 30 quilts showing numerous ways to make scrappy quilts, including squares and strips of various sizes, 4-patches, half-square triangles, irregular sized strings, row quilts, medallion quilts, scrappy block exchanges with friends using “found fabric” like men’s shirts, and be sure to save those selvages!

August – Schoolhouse

September – Quilt Show

October – Annis Clapp, Cactus Rose Hideaway

Program: “Trunk Show”.

November – Debbie Maddy, Calico Carriage Quilt Designs
