January – Martha Lindberg
Workshop (Friday, Jan. 19, Harberger Hill, 701 Narrow St.):
“Wonky Dresden”. In this workshop, you will make a small quilt, approximately 24 inches square. It is a fun twist on the traditional Dresden Plate block. Each blade is turned into a wonky house making this Dresden neighborhood come to life. Every quilt will be a little different because your creativity will come into play designing each house with a special roof, door and windows. A fabric and supply list will be available. A pattern will be available at class for $6.
February – Phyllis Thornton, My Quilted Dreams

March – Maggie Ball, Dragonfly Quilts
Workshop (Saturday, Mar. 17, North Side Baptist Church, 910 N. Main St.): “Op-Art Kaleidoscope”. You will create a small wall hanging, approximately 36 inches square, using a template-free, ruler-free method. The process involves making large kaleidoscope blocks that are cut into sections, rearranged, and them reassembled using only two fabrics. A simple process gives a stunning result. The pattern is available for $5 at the workshop.

November – Debbie Maddy, Calico Carriage Quilt Designs
Workshop (Saturday, Nov. 17, Lynn Main’s house, 211 W. Oak St.): “Shibori Resist with Indigo Dyeing”. We will make an Indigo vat first thing in the day, then the FUN begins. We will learn to use all kinds of clamps, blocks, ties, slinkies, PVC pipe and twine to create resists on the fabrics for dipping in the indigo. You name it and we will try it. This class is fun on steroids with beautiful results. There will be a $20 supply fee paid directly to the instructor in class. The fee covers use of all dye supplies and choice of 2 scarves, 4 napkins or 1 ½ yards of PFD fabric. Students can bring extra things they want to dye as time permits. Debbie provides all the supplies for the class except each student should bring a pair of dishwashing style rubber gloves, the longer the better, and wear old clothes and shoes that they don’t mind being blue!
